French Quarter Magazine marks its 12th anniversary in the United States with an inaugural Washington gathering that brings together members of the diplomatic corps, Members of Congress, authors, advocates, and cultural leaders. The evening celebrates FQM's commitment to storytelling, cultural dialogue, and international collaboration from a French and business perspective.
The event features the unveiling of The Originals Issue, FQM's signature edition dedicated to changemakers and trailblazers, alongside a presentation of by Jan Jekielek, FQM's Author of the Year. A conversation between Jekielek, Senior Editor and host of American Thought Leaders, and Isabelle Karamooz, Founder and CEO of FQM – Global Culture, The French Way, will be followed by an audience Q&A.
A highlight of the evening is an award ceremony honoring New York Times bestselling author Jan Jekielek for his contributions to journalism and work on human rights issues. His book Killed to Order examines forced organ harvesting and underscores the importance of intellectual courage in defending fundamental freedoms.
The program concludes with remarks from distinguished guests, ambassadors, and embassy representatives, followed by a cocktail reception. The evening includes live musical performances and curated cultural presentations from participating embassies, including a Paraguayan harpist celebrating Paraguay's cultural heritage.
