World Cup 2026 in Washington, D.C.: Where to Watch the Knockouts & Final
The group stage is over and the bracket is set. Here's where to watch the World Cup's final stretch — through the July 19 final — across D.C.'s international scene.
Stamps DC · Updated June 30, 2026
Washington, D.C. isn't a 2026 World Cup match venue, but with the group stage wrapped and the knockout rounds underway, the capital's diplomatic and expat communities have turned the city into one of the country's best places to watch the run to the July 19 final.
Here's where to catch what's left — the free Fan Zone on the National Mall, embassy and community watch parties, and a black-tie diplomatic gala two nights before the trophy is lifted. We update the list as embassies announce knockout-round events, so check the Stamps DC calendar for the latest.
The anchor: the National Mall Fan Zone
The free FIFA World Cup 2026 Fan Zone, run by Freedom 250 with FIFA, takes over the National Mall between 3rd and 4th Streets NW and runs daily through July 19. Giant screens carry every knockout-round game right through to the final, alongside food, music, and cultural showcases — the closest thing D.C. has to a stadium atmosphere.
Embassy and community watch parties
Through the knockouts, missions and diaspora venues keep hosting. On the Stamps DC calendar right now: the Embassy of Colombia's Ghana vs. Colombia knockout watch party on July 4, and the French embassy's France vs. Sweden screening. Embassies tend to announce knockout events once their team's path is set, so the calendar is the place to watch.
Beyond the embassies, the city's expat communities have claimed home bars for the run. Argentine fans gather at Flor in Georgetown; Brazilians pack Arena Brazou's parties at the Clarendon Ballroom; Colombian supporters fill Public Bar in Dupont Circle; Mexico's El Tri turns out at Apapacho and Taquería Xochi in Navy Yard; the Dutch go orange at Elephant & Castle downtown; and Iranian fans head to Pars Place in Vienna, VA. Washingtonian keeps a running where-to-watch guide as more venues add knockout-round screenings.
The finale — and a black-tie 'Soccer Ball'
The diplomatic community sends the tournament off in style. The multi-embassy black-tie World Cup “Soccer Ball” on Friday, July 17 fills the Organization of American States' Hall of the Americas — an international open bar, cuisine from across the Americas, and cultural performances, two nights before the championship.
Then the final on July 19 closes it out, with the Fan Zone showing it on the Mall. For everything still ahead at the city's embassies, start at the Stamps DC calendar or see what's on this weekend.
