The Mexican Cultural Institute, in collaboration with Dupont Underground, presents a special screening of the award-winning 1986 documentary "Ulama: The Game of Life and Death." This film delves into one of Mexico’s oldest living traditions: the ancient Mesoamerican ballgame.
Following the screening, engage in a live Q&A session with the film's Director, Roberto Rochín, a recognized expert on the history and traditions of the Mesoamerican ballgame. The documentary offers a unique perspective on the origins of ball games in the Americas and their cultural significance in pre-Hispanic societies, showcasing modern practitioners dedicated to preserving ulama, a direct descendant of the sacred ballgame played by ancient civilizations across Mexico.
