About

The Korean Cultural Center Washington, D.C. (KCCDC) partners with the Nam Center for Korean Studies at the University of Michigan and the Ann Arbor District Library (AADL) to present "Korea Week 2026." This festival invites the University of Michigan community and Ann Arbor residents to discover and experience Korean culture through a variety of engaging programs.

Throughout the week, visitors can enjoy a diverse range of activities, including hanbok workshops, traditional Korean games and crafts, Korean ink wash painting, and a lecture on Korean food and culture. There will also be Hangul activities, traditional Korean percussion, and Korean storytime, with programs designed for both children and adults.

A special highlight on September 28 is “The Beauty of Hanbok: Discovering Korean Culture Through Traditional and Modern Hanbok,” led by professional hanbok designer Laura Park. Participants will learn about the history and cultural significance of hanbok while exploring and experiencing both traditional and modern styles.

Through Korea Week, KCCDC aims to expand opportunities for communities beyond the Washington, D.C. area to experience Korean culture firsthand, while strengthening long-term cultural exchange and partnerships with local educational and cultural institutions. For the full schedule, locations, and details about each program, please visit the Ann Arbor District Library’s Korea Week event page.
