Oman: A Legacy of Dialogue and Tolerance.

About

Join the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center (SQCC) for a special lecture, "Oman: A Legacy of Dialogue & Tolerance." This evening will delve into Oman’s longstanding dedication to fostering respect and understanding among different faiths and cultures, highlighting values of dialogue, religious tolerance, mutual understanding, and peaceful coexistence.

The program includes welcome remarks from Ms. Hiba Abdulkhaliq, Senior Program Officer at SQCC, and opening remarks from Counselor Sabra Al Hooti, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman. The main lecture will be delivered by Dr. Timothy J. Gianotti, a distinguished Islamic scholar and advocate for interfaith dialogue with over 30 years of experience. Dr. Gianotti specializes in Islamic theology, philosophy, and religious diversity, with particular expertise in the works of Al-Ghazali.

Following the lecture, there will be an audience Q&A session, providing an opportunity for deeper engagement with the topic. The evening will conclude with a reception, allowing guests to connect and continue the conversation. Attendees are requested to wear business attire. This event is free to attend, but kindly RSVP by October 19 via Eventbrite.
