Adapted from Andrés Burgo’s book, "The Match" offers an exhilarating account of this iconic football encounter. Through rare archival footage, narration from footballers Gary Lineker and Jorge Valdano, and new testimonials from players on the pitch, the film explores the lingering tensions from the Falklands War that set the stage for this unforgettable sporting battle. It also delves into the broader themes of war and the symbolic confrontation between athletes.

The screening takes place at the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center in Silver Spring, MD. Following the film, attendees are invited to a special post-screening reception sponsored by the Embassy of Argentina. Tickets are required for this event.
