About

Join the Mexican Cultural Institute for "FUSIÓN: Piano Music of the Last 100 Years," a captivating concert featuring pianist Mateo Hurtado Castillo. This event explores a century of exceptional piano music, transcending genres, challenging boundaries, and revealing unexpected connections between diverse musical traditions.

Imagine the sounds of Bill Evans, Duke Ellington, Chick Corea, Alberto Ginastera, György Kurtág, Pierre Boulez, and Consuelo Velázquez sharing the same stage. Through their music, different worlds enter into dialogue, creating contrasts, revealing common ground, and inviting us to reconsider the boundaries between musical styles.

From classical music and jazz to the avant-garde and Latin American music, FUSIÓN offers a fresh perspective on the piano. The program is free from labels and guided by the expressive voice of each composition, resulting in a rich mosaic of sounds, gestures, and ideas that celebrates the diversity of musical expression across the last hundred years.

This concert is free to attend. Please RSVP via the provided link to secure your spot.
